Marika spends most of her year on the road as a traveling performer, leader and pedagogue. Her violin has taken her to over 30 countries, performing at a multitude of fascinating and famous venues, reaching from Carnegie Hall to the ancient spice market in Damascus, Syria. Philadelphia Inquirer hailed her playing as “mightily impressive, tonally attractive and intellectually secure”, and her 20 – odd recordings include the GRAMMY-nominated Handel’s Israel in Egypt with the Trinity Wall Street Choir and Baroque Orchestra. Her love for string quartets is great, and being a member of one is definitely a dream come true!
In her spare time Marika is an avid mountain and road biker and strives to hike and kayak as often as she possibly can. Her kitchen frequently smells very good and she likes to keep her wine and Scotch shelves nicely stocked.
